About
Around 2001 I hosted a jewelry party in my home, and received lots and lots of fashion jewelry for being a hostess. I believe it was this experience that awakened my love of jewelry. I didn't really know how fun it could be to have just the right piece to "make" an outfit really look pulled together.
I began creating my own beaded jewelry in 2004 with the help of a friend (as we all do...thanks Tricia!), and have loved making jewelry to compliment my clothing. It has been a fun hobby, and my inventory of beads and components has grown and grown.
In 2008 is when I officially began my business. I started at the prompting of a friend (thanks, Paula), whose two daughters wanted to learn how to make jewelry, too. "No Science, Just Fun" describes the girls' beading workshops that were kicked off.
Then I got the questions...
-
"do you do birthday parties?" "Sure!" was my response.
-
"Do you do ladies' nights?" "Sure!"
-
"Will you come to my Girl Scout troop meeting and 'do beads'?" "Sure!"
-
"Will you make me a Mommy Bracelet?" "Sure!"
-
"Do you have other custom jewelry for sale?" "I do...now!"
So, as you can see, it's been an incredible time of growth for my little business. One day, perhaps I'll have a bigger space than my dining room. But for now, it's fine. My kitchen table seats more people anyway!
